The predecessor of China Gansu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. was China Gansu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Corporation, which was approved by the State Council in October 1984 by the Gansu Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. In August 2010, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Gansu Provincial Government approved the merger and reorganization of China Gansu International Economic and Technological Cooperation Corporation by Gansu Construction Investment Group Corporation. In July 2020, in accordance with the work requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council to deepen the reform of state-owned enterprises, the company actively promoted the corporate restructuring of the enterprise, and reported to the higher-level supervisory unit for approval, and officially changed its name to China Gansu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd.

China Gansu International Economic and Technological Cooperation Co., Ltd. is a multinational operating company integrating international engineering general contracting, import and export trade, international economic technology and labor cooperation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, hotel management, international real estate development, and domestic housing construction general contracting. It has the first-level qualification for general contracting of housing construction projects from the Ministry of Construction and the Grade-A qualification for foreign aid construction enterprises from the Ministry of Commerce. It has passed the three international standard system certifications of quality, occupational health and safety and environmental management. It is one of the earliest, largest and most reputable enterprises in Gansu Province to carry out foreign project contracting, economic and technological cooperation.
