The ODS Pilot is considered the circuit breaker for gas appliances. How it works: The ODS Pilot is designed with three components, an oxygen sensing pilot burner (figure 1), an thermocouple(figure 2) that is positioned in the mantle of the pilot flame, and a safety shut off(thermocouple) (figure 3).
