Torrefazione Carbonelli is a small artisan coffee roasting company based in Melito di Napoli, Italy. Carbonelli Roasting Coffee was born by a passion: coffee passion. In 1946, Pietro Carbonelli, only 10 years old, started to learn the secrets for a good coffee manufacturing, through the little streets of a historical, creative city of Naples, where every day, from the first morning hours to late evening, the unique and persistent scent came from a tazzulella 'e cafe', the coffee cup. At the end of '60s, Pietro began to collaborate with the most famous and ancient Neapolitan coffee roasting businesses, improving his knowledge about green coffee. Then, in 1981, he established in Melito di Napoli the Carbonelli Roasting Coffee where, with his passion and experience in coffee culture, began to produce coffee with oat wood-fire roasting technique, considered by him the only artisan method to give coffee a unique aroma, that can be still found in our Vesuvio, Santa Lucia, Napoli, Arabica Gold and Arabica Extra blends. What we offer is a high-quality artisan product and we make it in the most innovative way. Product safety is one of our prerogatives. We are convinced that vacuum bags packaging is now outdated, as it could be subject to punctures, putting coffee powder in contact with the air, risking the alteration of the aromas. Our coffee in grains and fresh ground coffee blends are packed in triple layer aluminium bags, with the innovative aroma saver valve system. The triple aluminium layer protects coffee from environmental variations. Also, the saves aroma valve inside the bags favours the partial leakage of gases produced by coffee, but being unidirectional, it does not allow air from the outside to enter the bags, thus ensuring the aromas to remain unaltered. Same material is used to produce E.S.E pods external pack and single dose capsules. In the production phase, E.S.E pods are wrapped in a double filter paper layer, then sealed in vacuum bags; in the next phase, pods are packaged in a single dose aluminium paper triple layer, in which is inserted the necessary amount of nitrogen for the preservation of flavourings. Same procedure for capsules with FAP system, but with different material in which the coffee is contained, which is no longer the filter paper, but the plastic PVC. With our two roaster machines, we register a daily production of 2160 Kg coffee beans, ready to be processed into E.S.E Pods and FAP capsules, to be shipped Worldwide.
