Styrene (Styrene) is an organic compound formed by a hydrogen atom of benzene substituted for ethylene. The molecular formula is C8H8. The electrons of vinyl are conjugated with the benzene ring, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, and polymerization and oxidation occur gradually when exposed to air. Industrially, it is an important monomer for synthetic resins, ion exchange resins, and synthetic rubbers.
